Electric & Power Vietnam 2016 – A Timely Boost for Vietnam’s Electric Power Industry
Vietnam's rapid economic growth, industrialization, and export market expansion have been accompanied by increased energy consumption. Demand for electricity is increasing at a rapid pace, surpassing the GDP growth rate over the same period, and is expected to grow at the annual growth rates of over 10%, rising from 169.8 TWh in 2015 to 615.2 TWh by 2030. To satisfy the national demand for energy, electric power in particular, Vietnam need to make efforts to improve its power infrastructure, diversify fuel sources for electric power generation, improve grid transmission capacity and promote technological innovation for efficiency and supply quality
In this light, the timely return of Electric & Power Vietnam provides unique opportunities for local enterprises and industries to tap into new products and technologies for this purpose.
Electric & Power Vietnam 2016 – Industrial Automation Vietnam 2016: A combined exhibition for power engineering and manufacturing technologies.
First launched in 2006, Electric & Power Vietnam has gradually expanded to become Vietnam's most comprehensive electric power trade event, converging a diverse community of exhibitors interested in the Vietnamese market. The 2016 edition is poised to feature 250 exhibiting companies from 30 countries and regions, including 7 international group pavilions of China, Germany, Korea, India, Singapore, Taiwan and Turkey. Encompassing 7,000 square meters of exhibition space, the event is pleased to host international exhibitors such as ABB, ASKA Power Generation, Datakom, Hanyoung Nux Vietnam, Honeywell International Inc., Intertek, Mekong Technology, Namsung Industries, Rittal, Sensor System Technology, Shanghai Leipold, Untel Kablo, to name a few.
One of the highlights of the exhibition is the large international presence of group pavilions from Korea, Taiwan and many other countries, showcasing best-of-breed power technologies, equipment and energy saving solutions. The prominent participation of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Korea Electrical Manufacturers’ Cooperative (KEMC) and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA) once again affirms the importance and relevance of the exhibition to the power industry, as the premier event for business networking and product and service innovation in support of a sustainable power sector development for Vietnam.
A diverse selection of solutions and technologies under one roof
Electric & Power Vietnam is a product-packed platform that spotlights power engineering technologies and capabilities, including but not limited to: Busbar system; cable, wire and electrical accessories; electrical distribution and transmission equipment; power generation equipment; lighting technologies; systems and controls, renewable energies – biomass; solar energy and numerous others.
Held alongside Electric & Power Vietnam is the Industrial Automation Vietnam trade exhibition which prides itself as a one-stop shop for factory and process automation equipment and technologies.
ABB’s power technologies at Electric & Power Vietnam 2016
ABB is the world’s leader in energy and power distribution. ABB’s technologies help customers use electrical power efficiently, increase industrial productivity and lower environmental impact in a sustainable way. At the 2016 edition of Electric & Power Vietnam, ABB is eager to showcase its wide range of power technologies, ranging from low voltage products, programmable devices and motors, to energy efficiency solutions.
Enhancing their exhibition presence, ABB is organizing two technical seminars – the first is entitled “Enhancing Protection Level Against a Power Quality Event - Energy Efficiency, Doing More With Less” which recommends solutions for different power quality issues faced by industries. The second is a product launch entitled “All Compatible Drive ACS580 Launching Seminar - Switch on Simplicity Without Trading off Efficiency”, featuring a new generation and all-compatible drive ACS580, which simplifies production processes and motor control with effortless energy efficiency.
Mr. James Mullen, Vice President, Business Development, ABB Vietnam Ltd. shared: “Electric & Power Vietnam is a professional exhibition for electric and automation players in the market. The outcome of our experience in 2012 and 2014 was very good. Therefore, we have expanded our product display not only within discrete automation and motion fields, but to other product areas in buildings, utilities and industries such as transformer, low voltage products, drives and motors, power quality products, to name a few in this year exhibition.”
Technical Seminars at Electric and Power Vietnam 2016
Not merely a product showcase, Electric & Power Vietnam 2016 is also filled with concurrent educational programs, carefully crafted for delegates to learn, network, knowledge-share and be immersed in industry insights and topics relevant to the power sector.
Lean Six Sigma Network brings to the event two interesting topics - “Toward Efficient Usage of Energy with ISO 50001 and Industrial Wireless Security” – an important and growing topics of concern as more cost effective wireless communication is being deployed in plants and industrial production facilities.
Other exhibiting companies, in particular, Rittal and Honeywell International Inc., are also contributing to the technical seminar program in areas of their respective expertise – Enclosure designs and Smart Building Technologies.
Admission to these Technical Seminars at Electric and Power Vietnam is free for qualified trade attendees.
Mr. BT Tee, Deputy Chief, Vietnam Representative Office, Singapore Exhibition Services expresses: “The high rate of electric power demand, driven by Vietnam’s industrial expansion is phenomenal, putting quite a lot of stress on the current power infrastructure in Vietnam. There is an interesting imbalance between supply and demand where there is a higher supply capacity in the north of Vietnam, but where power demand growth in southern Vietnam is faster. As such, power transmission, distribution and grid efficiency becomes important with long transmission distances – this needs to be improved with new technology implementation, replacing less efficient legacy systems and technologies. The power saved through transmission and distribution efficiency improvements reduces the need for capital expenditure to build new power plants. But build we must to cater for new industrial parks, new industrial infrastructure and the demands of a growing manufacturing base around Ho Chi Minh City. It is also here that new cleaner and greener enabling technologies must come to the fore for electrical power production and electrical power usage, alongside related industrial automation products and technologies for factories and industries around Ho Chi Minh City and beyond.
We are pleased to have with us this year a strong international contingent of enabling technologies and services supporting the needs of Electrical Power and Industrial Automation users in Vietnam. Electric & Power Vietnam 2016 and Industrial Automation Vietnam 2016 will take place from 14 to 16 September 2016 at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.”
