Strong South Korean Technology Presence At Electric & Power Vietnam 2016
The combined exhibition of Electric & Power Vietnam 2016 and Industrial Automation Vietnam 2016 got off to a good start with a prominent presence of South Korea’s leading power and automation equipment manufacturers and suppliers under a pavilion jointly organized by KEPCO – Korean Electric Power Company and KEMC – Korean Electrical Manufacturers Cooperative.
Ho Chi Minh City, 14 September 2016 - The growing demand for electricity in Vietnam as a result of an expanding economy is sending the government strong signals to ensure adequate electricity supply for national socio-economic development. In this light, there is a pressing need for a strong electric power industry event to enhance intra-regional power trade and investment promotion plus technology transfer. Into its 6th edition, Electric & Power Vietnam has gradually solidified its position as the event of choice for the power and energy industry as well as automation technologies, continuing to receive strong support from leading enterprises in Vietnam and beyond.
South Korean Technology Spotlight at Electric & Power Vietnam 2016
With a total investment of US$25 billion, South Korea has surpassed other traditional top foreign investors to become the largest investor in Vietnam. Many South Korean companies see the potential for the Vietnam’s power sector development and are keen to boost business cooperation with Vietnamese power companies in the coming time, especially in the context of the recently signed Vietnam – Korea Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
Each and every edition of Electric & Power Vietnam proudly hosts a large number of Korean exhibitors who are eager to put up an impressive display of technologies, equipment and solutions catering to the local power industry. The 6th edition once again marks strong South Korean participation under the auspices of the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and Korea Electrical Manufacturers' Cooperative (KEMC), which feature a total of 20 leading Korean companies highlighting their best-of-breed advancements of electric power engineering, plus factory and process automation.

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), 51% of the shares owned by the Korean government, is the largest electric utility in South Korea. KEPCO is responsible for over 90% of Korea's electricity generation, transmission and distribution.
Electric & Power Vietnam 2016: Striking Statistics
Electric & Power Vietnam 2016 prides itself as a one-stop shop for power and energy saving solutions and automation technologies, organized by the Hong Kong Exhibition Services and locally supported by the VCCI Exhibition Service. The overall power consumption in Vietnam is continuing to rise rapidly over the years, fueling the socio-economic development and wealth creation of the country. According to the National Master Plan for Power Development for the 2011 – 2020 period with the vision to 2030, the electricity demand of the country is 169 billion kWh by 2015 and 290 billion kWh by 2020. Total investment in the power sector in 2011 – 2020 is estimated at 929.7 trillion VND (equivalent to US$48.8 billion). The significant increase in energy consumption as well as capital investment presents new opportunities for international suppliers to expand business scope and tap into the Vietnamese market.
