PANEL OF SPEAKERS
Mr. Minh Ha-Duong |
Dr. Ha-Duong is a senior scientist with international expertise in energy, climate change, society and economics analysis. He was lead author on Assessment Report 4 and 5 of the IPCC, co-awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2007. He founded the Vietnam Initiative for the Energy Transition (VIET) quasi-independent think tank in August 2018. Dr. Ha-Duong is affiliated with the French National Scientific Research Center (CNRS). Mr. Phat Nguyen |
Mr. Phat is a legal counsel of the Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 3 (PECC3). Mr. Phat is UK-educated, Vietnamese qualified lawyer having over 7 years of international legal experiences on renewable power projects in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Southeast Asia and Vietnam on handling complex M&A, project financing and contract negotiation regarding renewable energy projects. Phat holds his law degree from Keele University (UK). Mr. Phat is an accredited mediator of Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (UK) and listed mediator specializing in (renewable) energy disputes and a Head of Energy and Infrastructure Working Group of Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Center. Mr. Phat is also a Member of Inspection Committee of Society of Construction Law – Viet Nam (SCLVN). |
Mr. Mark Shorrock |
To date, Mark has led the development of over £2 billion-worth of renewable energy projects. He was a pioneer in the UK wind and solar sectors through his businesses Wind Energy Ltd and Low Carbon Developers Ltd. Low Carbon Investors, Mark’s fund management business set up one of the first UK solar roof funds, the Low Carbon Downing solar VCT, the tech incubator Low Carbon Accelerator and then founded Low Carbon Group which today has circa 1GW portfolio of operating renewable energy assets under management. Shire Oak Energy’s first company incubated, Tidal Lagoon Power has consented to the 320 MW Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon and is developing five further larger-scale tidal lagoons to a total of 9,800 MW of installed capacity across three jurisdictions. In 2018, Mark established Shire Oak International. Shire Oak International is a developer of ground mount and rooftop solar projects. It is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with offices in Indonesia, South Africa and Colombia. Shire Oak International is a developer and financier of large-scale renewable energy projects in developing countries and emerging economies. Our team have developed over $2bn of renewable energy projects worldwide. In Vietnam we are developing a broad portfolio of solar energy projects across the country. By working with corporates and educational establishments across the region, we are currently deploying circa US $450 million of equity funding to build out 650MW of Vietnamese rooftop solar installations. |
